South and City College Birmingham is Birmingham’s newest and biggest college. Formed on 1 August 2012 through the merge of South Birmingham College and City College Birmingham, they provide vocational education to around 25,000 students. Media Beard worked closely with SCCB’s Marketing Department to create their Social Media Strategy, focusing mainly on their Facebook and Twitter profiles. The strategy was created with students in mind; to create an online community for current students and prospective students to have a hub to receive relevant and up-to-date information on courses, events and even to discuss issues with their tutors.
Media Beard also assisted with the creation of the Social Media Apprenticeship programme by teaching the Facebook section to the students and spoke at social media events hosted by the college to assist other businesses in using social to leverage their business and ROI.
